The Wanting is not just a psychological phenomenon—it is a parasitic intelligence, a self-replicating virus of consciousness that infiltrates the bodies and minds of beings across dimensions. It is a force that thrives on lack, longing, and the illusion of incompleteness, feeding off those who are unable to break free from its grasp.
In most cases, the being who become host to the Wanting, have leant at some point during their lives, that they do not deserve joy, happiness, and in more extream cases, life itself. Other have been denied their right to have and as a result, abandoned their own dreams and desires for a better life, creating a perfect emotional environment for the Wanting to take root and corrod what remains of a being personal will.
At its core, The Wanting is an artificial hunger, a distortion of the natural flow of creation. It does not satisfy, it only perpetuates more want, whist distorting the true intentions that create the urge to want. Those infected lose their ability to experience true fulfillment, instead becoming vessels for endless seeking—always chasing but never arriving.
The Wanting can become so strong in someone that their entire soul becomes drained. They are left empty and unfulfilled as the external realities can never full satisfy their hunger.
There are various strains of the Wanting virus, each is orientated to a specific fracture of reality. Those that want in a lustful way can find themselves living within the slave cultures or clawing in the way to the top of the system of domination. Those that desire distraction become overly involved in outworld cultures, forgetting themselves entirely. Then there are those who only want to experience some from of control, from the micro to the macro, the moral to the material, to be controlled or to control others. The other strains have being seeking superficial attachment, chasing drama and chaos, falling into aspects of false perseption or an overwhelming believe that they need saving.
Realites and Outworld have been co-created by the infected and over time the truth has been suppressed by many and forgotton by many more.
